ARRI Alexa Mini LF Ready to Shoot Kit

Built around a large-format 4K version of the original ALEXA sensor, the ARRI ALEXA Mini LF (LPL) camera in this Ready to Shoot Gold Mount Set offers native 4K recording in three sensor modes, with ARRIRAW or ProRes recording in LF Open Gate, LF 16:9, or LF 2.39:1 mode. The ALEXA Mini LF combines large-format resolution with an optimal pixel size for excellent image quality producing vivid, nuanced images with natural skin tones and smooth bokeh. The ALEXA Mini LF is designed with ARRI’s LPL lens mount that has been optimized for large-format capture and is compatible with all PL-mount lenses with the use of a PL-to-LPL adapter. A wider diameter and shorter flange focal depth than the original ARRI PL mount enable LPL-mount lenses to be smaller and lighter than earlier large-format optics.

The ALEXA Mini LF is a hybrid of the ALEXA Mini and the ALEXA LF, as it retains the same LF sensor but has the form factor of the Mini. The new exterior has a left-side media bay with two rows of connectors on the back and a slot to insert 1TB Codex media. It also features six user buttons, three more than the Mini, to configure to your preference. It also features extra 12 and 24V power outputs and a black burst/tri-level input. The audio connector is now 6-pin, so it doesn’t conflict with the 5-pin timecode port.

Large Full-Frame Sensor with Three Operating Modes

Like the entire ALEXA line, the ALEXA Mini LF combines high resolution with an optimal pixel size for excellent image quality. The ALEXA LF offers a choice of recording in 4448 x 3096 Open Gate, 3840 x 2160 16:9, and 4448 x 1856 2.39:1 anamorphic.

Native 4K Recording with ALEXA Image Quality

The ALEXA Mini LF records vivid, nuanced images with natural-looking skin tones in native 4K. Its colorimetry is compatible with HDR (High Dynamic Range) and WCG (Wide Color Gamut) workflows, providing a subtle, immersive look.

Array of Recording Choices

Recording rates (using Codex capture drives): Up to 40 fps in MXF ARRIRAW to 40 fps in MXF ProRes 4444 XQ in LF Open Gate; 90 fps in MXF ARRIRAW to 60 fps in MXF ProRes 4444 XQ in LF 16:9; and 60 fps in MXF ARRIRAW to 60 fps in MXF ProRes 4444 XQ in LF 2.39:1 anamorphic. MXF ARRIRAW and MXF ProRes 444 XQ/4444/422 HQ/422 options are available in all three sensor modes.

A base sensitivity of ASA 800, reduced noise, and a dynamic range of 14+ dovetails with HDR workflows.

New LPL Lens Mount

The LPL lens mount, designed specifically for large-format sensors, is available separately. With its wider diameter and shorter flange focal depth than the original ARRI PL mount, LPL-mount lenses can be designed smaller and lighter than earlier large-format optics.

ARRI Signature Primes

ARRI now offers a range of 16 large-format, LPL-mount Signature Prime lenses, ranging from 12 to 280mm. These separately available lenses display natural skin tones, smooth bokeh, and an organically pleasing look. The Signature Primes feature ARRI’s quick and comprehensive LDS-2 lens metadata system and are constructed with machined magnesium for durability and lighter weights.

Compatible with PL Lenses, ALEXA Mini Accessories, and Workflow Tools

The ALEXA Mini LF camera works with most existing ALEXA Mini-compatible lenses, accessories, and workflows. Use your favorite existing ARRI Look files and software tools with the ALEXA Mini LF. A separately available PL-to-LPL mount adapter attaches to any PL-mount lens, both Super 35 or full-frame. The ALEXA Mini LF transmits data from LDS-2, LDS-1, or /i (Cooke) lens data systems.

ARRI LPL Lens Mount for ALEXA Mini / AMIRA

The ARRI LPL Lens Mount enables you to attach an LPL-mount lens to an ARRI ALEXA Mini or AMIRA camera. Compatible with the ARRI large-format Signature Primes and future LPL-mount lenses, this mount transmits ARRI LDS-1, LDS-2, and Cooke /i Technology lens data from compatible lenses.

The LPL lens mount features a wider diameter and requires a shorter flange focal depth than the original PL mount. Three blue levers on the LPL mount distinguish it visually from a standard PL mount.

Note:

The LBUS connector on this LPL mount will not work on an AMIRA camera.

ARRI MVB-1 Viewfinder Mounting Bracket for ALEXA Mini

Expand your options for mounting HD camera accessories like monitors, transmitters, mic holders, French flags, etc., on your ARRI camera rig by using the ARRI CCH-2 Center Camera Handle. This sturdy carrying handle screws onto a UAP-2 adapter plate (available separately), and features multiple 3/8″-16 and 1/4″-20 threaded holes for attaching accessories. ARRI Compact Bridge Plate CBP-1 19mm for ALEXA Mini

The ARRI Compact Bridge Plate CBP-1 19mm provides a lightweight option for mounting 19mm Studio-standard accessories to your ALEXA Mini camera. A sliding balance mechanism and quick release system offer the adjustability of a studio bridge plate at a reduced weight.

Features include right and left rosettes, front 19mm Studio rod support, and a built-in, contoured shoulder pad. Use the CBP-1 19mm bridge plate to mount camera accessories onto a pair of separately available rods or onto the ARRI-standard rosettes.

ARRI Rear Accessory Bracket RAB-1

The ARRI Rear Accessory Bracket RAB-1 is designed to mount accessories like battery plates or power-splitting boxes to the ALEXA Mini camera body. This curved bracket screws onto the camera providing a rib-like structure on which to attach a power solution. Use the RAB-1 bracket with the separately available RAB-1 Clamp to attach an ARRI Power Splitting Box, or a BAP-1 Battery Adapter Plate.

ARRI Rod Mounting Bracket (RMB-3)

Use the Rod Mounting Bracket (RMB-3) from ARRI to support a single, standard 19mm rod for mounting a lens motor, lightweight EVF bracket, etc. to your camera or cage rig. When used with a separately available insert, the RMB-3 can be used to support a 15mm rod. A mounted rod is easily secured using the thumb lever on this screw-in bracket.

Canon EOS-1D X Mark III DSLR Kit

Built for speed, sensitivity, and precision, the Canon EOS-1D X Mark III is a powerful DSLR designed for sports, wildlife, and other trying and dynamic imaging applications. Designed as the flagship of the EOS system, the 1D X Mark III is characterized by its refined processing capabilities and distinct speed to suit both photo and video applications. Featuring a newly designed 20.1MP full-frame CMOS sensor and updated DIGIC X image processor, this camera is capable of continuous shooting rates up to 16 fps with the optical viewfinder or 20 fps in live view, with a 1000-shot buffer when shooting raw+JPEG. Complementing this speed is an impressive native sensitivity range from ISO 100-102400, that can be expanded to ISO 50-819200, to suit working in a variety of lighting conditions. Also benefitting the speed is the EOS iTR AF X autofocus system, which uses 191 points for quickly and accurately acquiring focus. It also enables Face Tracking and Head Detection AF functions, which use Deep Learning Technology, to maintain critical focus on moving subjects. Additionally, when working in live view, Dual Pixel CMOS AF uses 3869 manually selectable points and provides a smooth, natural focusing quality akin to the way a camcorder acquires focus.

In addition to high performance stills shooting, the 1D X Mark III is also highly competent for video, with the ability to record DCI 4K content internally at up to 60 fps with 10-bit, 4:2:2 color, as well as Full HD at 120 fps and raw 5.5K (5472 x 2886) at 60 fps. Complementing recording is Movie Digital IS, manual focus peaking, and Focus Guide, and, also, Canon Log Gamma can be used for greater color grading control in post.

Complementing the imaging capabilities is one of the key features of 1D-series cameras: a durable and robust body design. This camera uses a magnesium alloy construction that is weather-sealed to guard against dust and moisture for working in especially trying environments. The body also incorporates dual CFexpress memory card slots to support the fast-continuous shooting rates and high-resolution video capabilities. The optical pentaprism viewfinder is benefitted by an updated mirror drive mechanism for reduced blackout and the 3.2″ 2.1m-dot touchscreen LCD is available for intuitive playback and menu navigation. 20.1MP Full-Frame Sensor and DIGIC X Image Processor

Redesigned 20.1MP full-frame CMOS sensor and DIGIC X image processor yield impressive image quality along with notable speed and sensitivity. The sensor itself is paired with a newly designed low pass filter, which helps to eliminate moiré and other aliasing for an overall clean image quality. The sensor and processor work together to enable up to 20 fps continuous shooting in live view or 16 fps with the viewfinder, and the buffer allows raw+JPEG bursts of up to 1000 frame sequences. Beyond speed, the sensor-processor combination also affords a broad native sensitivity range of ISO 100-102400, which can be expanded to ISO 50-819200 to support working in a wide variety of lighting conditions.

EOS iTR AF X Autofocus and Dual Pixel CMOS AF

Working in conjunction with the redeveloped imaging system, a refined autofocus system, EOS iTR AF X, uses 191 points to quickly and accurately acquire focus on subjects. Of the 191 points, 155 are cross-type points that excel in various lighting conditions and provide increased accuracy on a variety of subject types. This AF system also utilizes Deep Learning Technology to enable refined tracking capabilities, such as Head and Face Detection, for accurate subject recognition.

When recording video or shooting in live view, a Dual Pixel CMOS AF system is employed that features 3869 manually selectable autofocus points, with 525 automatic positions. This focusing system offers smooth and fast focusing performance in a similar manner to how a camcorder acquires focus. Dual Pixel CMOS AF integrates two separate photodiodes within each pixel to provide a broad and dense network of phase-detection gathering elements across a majority of the image sensor to reduce focus hunting for faster, more direct control of focus placement. When working with still imagery, this focusing system works to acquire focus quickly and accurately, making it ideally suited to shooting and tracking moving subjects so that critical focus is attained with each shot. When shooting video, a Movie Servo AF mode offers smooth and natural focusing when changing from different subjects or different distances within the scene, as well as the ability to specify tracking sensitivity, AF speed, and Face Tracking priority. Benefited by the Touch AF system, rack focus is possible simply by touching elements within the scene on the touchscreen in order to change focus in an intuitive manner. Subject tracking in movies is also heightened due to the Dual Pixel CMOS AF system’s ability to recognize subjects and maintain focus when working within changing or cluttered scenery.

DCI 4K and 5.5K Raw Video

Beyond stills, the 1D X Mark III is capable of internally recording DCI 4K video at 60 fps with 10-bit 4:2:2 color as well as raw 5.5K video. DCI 4K recording is possible using both the full sensor area or with a cropped portion, and the Canon Log Gamma also provides increased color grading control. Additionally, Full HD recording up to 120 fps is also possible for slow motion playback.

Both All-I and IPB compression options are available, along with the ability to autofocus when shooting at up to 5.5K raw at 30 fps or cropped DCI 4K at 60 fps. When using the full-frame area, 4K autofocus is limited to 30 fps. Also, Movie Digital IS, peaking, and a focus guide can be used to further complement making stable and sharp recordings.
